God’s covenant promise, “I will be with you” to Moses, Joshua, Jacob, Gideon and other bible
generals has always been a key factor to man’s need for courage in the face of impossible odds.
It is God’s presence that brings comfort and peace in times of great uncertainties. His presence
is that “blessed assurance.” Moses asked of the Lord “If you don’t go with me, I won’t go.”
Joshua, faced with filling the sandals of Moses, was encourageed with the promise of “I will be
with you.” Gideon too, skeptical of overcoming the Midianites was told by the Lord, “Go in the
strength you have." "I will be with you.” Jacob, the old testament patriarch dreamed of a
ladder with descending and ascending angels, said “God is here and I didn’t even know it.”
It’s a known spiritual fact this promise of His presence is afforded by God to anyone who will, at
high cost, pay the price of moving into that dimension that defies all worldly descriptions. His
presence brings on the anointing that produces a life-changing encounter with the Father. That
in turn produces signs and wonders that reveal the very nature and character of the”Most High
God.”
When studying the life of Christ, we can see that not only did Jesus preach the “Good News” of
the Kingdom, he also demonstrated the Kingdom with his supernatural power by healing the sick
and casting out demons. It is that representation of the Father that is for us the model to
emulate. Jesus always walked in the “presence” of his Father and because of that did only what
he saw the Father doing.
In John 1:4,8 Jesus was speaking to His disciples saying; “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait
for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.” “But you will
receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you.” While in the presence of the Lord the
time had come for them to get an anointing of their own through a personal encounter with the
Holy One.
Salvation, is a glorious gift of God. It's the beginning of a spiritual journey that can catapault us
into a realm never before experiennced. But there’s more. It’s called “dunamis” power, spiritual
TNT. It’s that power of operating in signs and wonders that makes us witnesses in the courtroom
of El Shadai. When the Spirit of God fell on the people we read about in the bible, everything
changed. Time stood still, power was exhibited, signs and wonders eclipsed the natural giving
way to the full expression of ”God’s Presence.”
